What to expect...
Here is what happens when a client arrives for an appointment...
- A first-time client fills out a medical-intake form. (Please come around 5-10 minutes early if you are a first-time client.)
- I assess the client's needs for the session and answer all the clients questions as best I can. (Please ask as many questions as you like!)
- I leave the room. The client gets undressed to their comfort level.
- I reenter a few minutes later after the client has already gotten onto the massage table and has covered up with the linens.
- The client remains appropriately draped at all times and is only undraped on the areas being worked on.
- I use oils & lotions during the massage, and I do not use any scents that have strong fragrances.

Tips on receiving a massage...
- If you are new, please come 5-10 min early.
- Wear little or no make-up.
- Please, please, please do not wear tanning products because it ruins the linens.
- Shower beforehand. It washes off any salt, minerals, or chemicals which can clog pores when mixed with massage oils.
- Please inform me if the pressure is too light or too deep for your needs.
- Close your eyes. This is the best way to start to quiet your mind, relax, and let go.
- Minimize talking during the massage unless you need to share something with me or ask a question, otherwise you will not get as much out of your session.
- Don't "assist" me during the massage. I will position you exactly how I need you. Your job is to let go and relax.
- Focus on slow, deep breathing from your diaphragm. You will relax more and get more out of the massage.
- Please give yourself at least 1/2 hr for having to be somewhere afterwards. (I always allow 45 min afterwards when I go get a massage.)
- Don't do anything strenuous afterwards, especially working out or running--only a light walk at most.
- DRINK TONS OF WATER AFTERWARDS. You need to eliminate the muscle waste (lactic acid) that was released during the massage or you will be sore the next day.
I use gentle but firm techniques to get to the source of the discomfort. There is no need for any pain to occur in a deep tissue massage if an area is properly warmed up. Please communicate with me to "listen" to your body. I want to make this the most relaxing and therapeutic experience you have ever had!
